Zoom CEO says employees need to be in the office because it's hard to build trust over Zoom
Leaked audio from Zoom's CEO where he claims it is too difficult for employees to build trust through a computer screen.
WordPress now offers a 100-year plan for domains
There is a high upfront cost, but it does promise a way to keep your website up theoretically even after you're gone. (Although it does mean you have to deal with using WordPress)
X to take on LinkedIn with new job posting feature
Elon is taking another step towards turning Xwitter into the "Everything App," but if you want to post jobs you will need to subscribe to a premium business plan at $1k/month.
Xwitter is going to collect user's biometric data and employment history
In addition to wanting Xwitter to be the "Everything App," Elon also wants it to be a "global address book." Another aspect of this is for Xwitter to recommend potential jobs to you.
Meta users can now promote stories as ads via the Marketing API
This feature has been highly requested by advertisers for quite some time now.
And due to some EU regulations, Meta may offer a paid, but ad-free, experience
In order to try and get around the EU's concerns about data privacy and advertisements, Meta has already started offering the option to opt out of targeted ads, and soon may offer a way out of ads entirely. (If you are willing to pay for the privilege anyways)
Instagram betas 10min long reels
In their ongoing effort to copy everything TikTok does, Instagram is now beta testing 10min long posts. (2 years after TikTok started doing that)
Mom's Meals says there has been a "data event"
And boy isn't that a nice sounding way to say there was a cyber-attack that resulted in a data breach. This could be a very big deal, as Mom's Meals also works with Medicare/Medicaid clients meaning that medical records could have been leaked.
Learning a new language on Duolingo?
Duolingo also suffering a "data event" as 2.6 million users have had their data scraped from the service.
DEFCON VIDEO-ART
During the latest DEFCON event CyberArk Research Group manager demonstrated the latest in deep-fake technology by speaking through the look and voice of both CyberArk CEO Udi Mokady, and DEFCON founder Jeff Moss.

And right back to another data breach, last episode we discussed how Forever 21 employees had their data leaked, and know we know it was half a million of them.
Citrix NetScaler attacks linked to ransomware group
To anyone who uses NetScaler, make sure that you get patched as soon as possible, as in July a vulnerability was found with a severity of 9.8. Thankfully a patch has been rolled out, but that only helps if you install it.
