This week, Matt & Griff discuss fast food after McDonald's suddenly became WcDonald's. And in social media news, the platform Bluesky is now open to all and seeing mass signups, perhaps due to them opening up federation. However, if TikTok and X statistics are anything to go by, most people who use social media don't actually post anything. (75% are apparently just lurking...) Additionally, Instagram and Threads are planning to change their advertising systems so that political ads are not 'proactively' recommended to users. And remember how we thought Reddit was trying to go public? Well, RDDT will be a part of the NYSE as of March. Plus, they struck a deal with an unnamed AI company to allow them to use Reddit user content as training data. Finally, the team learns how something as simple as changing an image on a webpage can boost conversion rates by 96%!
